Strugglers draw a blank again but pick up crucial point apiece

NATIONAL League strugglers Braintree Town and Altrincham shared the spoils in a scrappy but hard-fought goalless draw at the Rare Breed Meat Co Stadium.
Altrincham, hovering just above the relegation zone, had sacked long-serving manager Phil Parkinson on Thursday after a poor run of form, with former Wealdstone boss Neil Gibson placed in temporary charge.
Braintree, without a home league win since August, were hoping to take advantage of the visitors’ difficult week and end a five-game winless run.
