Two stunning strikes from Ian Henderson and Harvey Gilmour earned Rochdale a narrow victory over a battling Morecambe to ensure they tucked into their turkey leftovers top of the National League.
Dale were pushed all the way by the home side, who looked set for a share of the spoils after Jack Nolan’s early second-half strike, but the Dale, who had two penalties saved by Jamal Blackman, showed their character to make it five wins on the bounce and maintain their promotion push.
