Sutton and Aldershot failed to find a goal to warm the Boxing Day crowd, a point apiece, leaving Aldershot still in the relegation zone, three points behind 18th-placed U’s.
Having had the majority of the attacking possession in a poor game, Aldershot will have been disappointed not to have called Jack Sims into more action; the Sutton keeper only forced in one save that was anything beyond routine.
