After a frantic Boxing Day, the National League returns on DAZN tonight with a full schedule of fixtures to wrap up 2025.

League leaders Rochdale were the biggest winners from the Christmas period after their hard-fought win over Morecambe, while Forest Green Rovers and York City both dropped points.

The Dale have now won their last seven in all competitions and embark on a favourable home clash with Hartlepool United, who are without a win in their last three league matches.

It is up to the chasing pack to stay within touching distance of Jimmy McNulty’s side in what could be a pivotal day in the fifth tier.

Here are the standout clashes you won’t want to miss  all live on DAZN.

Rochdale vs Hartlepool United

Kick-off at 7.45pm GMT on Tuesday, December 30

Rochdale are showing no signs of blinking in their quest for promotion and will be expected to continue their superb form when they host play-off hopefuls Hartlepool.

The Dale showed tremendous character to overcome Morecambe in what was a tough away contest, snatching an 80th-minute winner courtesy of a tremendous curling effort by Harvey Gilmour.

McNulty’s men are now in the driving seat to secure promotion, having increased their lead at the top to two points with two games in hand on their closest rivals.

Meanwhile, Hartlepool are still without a win in December after their narrow 2-1 defeat at home to fellow top seven challengers Scunthorpe United.

The Monkey Hangers are now four points adrift of the play-off places and have played two more games than their rivals, meaning promotion is looking increasingly unlikely.

If Rochdale end the year with another victory, then it would be bold to bet against them returning to League Two at the end of the campaign.

Altrincham vs York City

Kick-off at 7.45pm GMT on Tuesday, December 30

On paper, a trip to Altrincham may look like easy work for promotion hopefuls York, but the Robins have been something of a bogey team for the Minstermen over the years.

York have failed to win in any of the previous 10 meetings between the clubs, with Altrincham securing nine wins.

If Stuart Maynard’s men want to achieve automatic promotion this season, then they simply must buck the trend at the J. Davidson Stadium.

The Minstermen struggled against Boston United – another one of their bogey teams – on Boxing Day, but managed to salvage an unlikely point on home soil.

Boston were heading to all three points against ten-man York, only for Josh Stones to rescue a 2-2 draw in the 96th minute.

As for Altrincham, their 2-1 loss away to Halifax Town means that they have now lost their last four games in all competitions.

While they are five points above the relegation zone in 16th, another loss would have them looking over their shoulder.

Maynard’s men are only three points behind Rochdale in third, but have played two more games, meaning they must clinch their first win over Altrincham on Tuesday night.

Boreham Wood vs Solihull Moors

Kick-off at 7.45pm GMT on Tuesday, December 30

Boreham Wood and Solihull Moors enter the final gameweek of 2025 in fine fettle, meaning there could be fireworks at Meadow Park on Tuesday evening.

While many have been waiting for Luke Garrard’s side to falter, they have done the opposite and are now up to second in the table after a fourth straight league win.

The Wood made easy work of a potentially tricky Boxing Day visit to local rivals Wealdstone, romping to a 4-0 victory at Grosvenor Vale.

The Moors should provide a much sterner test for the promotion chasers after they recorded a remarkable 7-1 hammering over Tamworth in their last outing – the joint biggest win in the club’s history.

With Chris Millington’s men eyeing the play-off positions, Boreham Wood will have to be at their best to rollover the Moors on home soil.

Scunthorpe United vs Gateshead

Kick-off at 7.45pm GMT on Tuesday, December 30

Scunthorpe United and Gateshead will aim to sign off 2025 on a high when they clash tonight.

The Iron have enjoyed a perfect December, winning every single one of their five matches, and are on a three-match winning streak in the league, having defeated Hartlepool 2-1 away from home on Boxing Day.

Gateshead are severely out of form in the fifth tier and have now lost their last 10 in all competitions.

The Heed’s latest defeat, a 3-0 home loss to Carlisle United, means that they are now only one point above bottom side Truro City.

Andy Butler’s side are overwhelming favourites for the National League mismatch and will be aiming to cement their position within the play-off places with a convincing win.

Southend United vs Sutton United

Kick-off at 7.45pm GMT on Tuesday, December 30

Southend United and Sutton United will be striving to end 2025 on a high when they meet tonight.

Despite Ben Goodliffe seeing red in the first half, the Shrimpers secured an unlikely 1-0 win away to Braintree Town on Boxing Day.

That victory means that Kevin Maher’s side remain in seventh position and three points ahead of play-off rivals Halifax Town.

As for the U’s, they played out a goalless draw with relegation-threatened Aldershot Town at Gander Green Lane.

While Sutton’s recent form is promising, they are only three points above the drop zone, although they do possess a game in hand on those around them.

The home side will fancy their chances on home turf in what will be only the third meeting between the two teams.

Carlisle United vs Morecambe

Carlisle United and Morecambe go head-to-head tonight, both targeting a positive end to the year.

Mark Hughes’ side responded to back-to-back defeats in emphatic fashion on Boxing Day by dismantling lowly Gateshead 3-0 away from home.

That win means that the Cumbrians sit in fifth and three points off league leaders Rochdale, although the Dale have three games in hand.

Morecambe were unable to halt the Rochdale steamtrain last Friday, but delivered a valiant performance in their 2-1 loss.

Their latest defeat means that Ashvir Singh Joval’s men remain in the relegation places, although a point against the Blues could lift them out of the drop zone.

The meeting between the two teams will be the first to take place in the Non-League, and it has all the ingredients to be a corker.
