3UP TAKES A KEY STEP FORWARD

WITH almost scripted timing, the EFL board discussed the 3UP issue exactly a year on from the launch of the National League’s official campaign for an extra promotion spot.
It’s been a talking point for a lot longer than 12 months, of course, but the fear of the issue dragging on even longer prompted a more formal push.
The EFL have, in fairness, acknowledged they can’t drag their heels forever but want it baked into the new financial package with the Premier League.
