York City and Rochdale resume their scrap at the summit of the National League this weekend as the promotion race continues to ebb and flow.

League leaders Dale reclaimed top spot in the midweek action with a 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe United to lead York by a single point.

Elsewhere on Saturday, two play-off contenders collide when Boreham Wood host Forest Green Rovers, while the scrap for seventh place intensifies with a couple of sides waiting to capitalise on any slip-ups.

At the other end of the table, crucial points are on the line as teams look to pull clear of the relegation zone heading into the final stretch of the campaign.

Here, Alice Humphries previews every clash from the National League this weekend.

Rochdale vs Woking

Kick-off at 15:00

After drawing their last two league fixtures, Rochdale will be looking to bounce back against mid-table Woking to stay top of the National League.

Jimmy McNulty’s team are nine games unbeaten, welcoming a Woking side on their fifth consecutive away day to the Crown Oil Arena, with their most recent clash a 2-1 defeat to Sutton United.

The two sides played out a goalless draw in the reverse fixture last October as Rochdale dominated possession but couldn’t find a breakthrough, but Emmanuel Dieseruvwe will be hoping to add to his tally this time around.

Truro City vs Gateshead FC

Kick-off at 17:30

Two sides deep into the National League relegation battle will face each other at the Truro City Stadium, having both conceded in each of their last five league matches.

Gateshead are due to arrive after nearly eight hours of travel, a 920-mile round trip from Tyne and Wear to Cornwall!

Rob Elliot’s outfit gave themselves a fighting chance to avoid relegation after a surprise 2-1 win over FC Halifax Town on Tuesday night, but still remain 10 points off from safety.

Boreham Wood knocked Truro out of the National League Cup in the midweek action, as the Tinners turn their attention to their league form as they look to close the eight-point gap to Sutton in 21st place.

York City vs FC Halifax Town

Kick-off at 15:00

Hoping to overhaul league leaders Rochdale, who they trail by just one point, in-form York City host Halifax Town.

The Shaymen will be looking to bounce back from their shock defeat to Gateshead and to maintain their play-off position.

Meanwhile, their opponents on Saturday boast an unbeaten run in their last five league matches as the Minstermen stand out as the favourites for this clash.

Boreham Wood vs Forest Green Rovers

Kick-off at 15:00

Two play-off chasing sides gunning for promotion go head-to-head this weekend as Forest Green Rovers look to halt a run of three straight defeats, while Boreham Wood aim to boost their own push.

Carlisle United got the better of Robbie Savage’s side last time out in a 3-1 victory at The New Lawn.

After seeing off Truro City to earn a place in the National League Cup final, Luke Garrard’s men shift their focus back to the league, having only taken four points from their last five games.

Rovers travel to Hertfordshire in sixth place, with their opponents currently in fourth place.

Aldershot Town vs Scunthorpe United

Kick-off at 15:00

Scunthorpe United will be looking to get back to winning ways after taking just a point from their last three league fixtures.

The reverse fixture ended in a 2-2 draw last October and The Shots will aspire to extend their unbeaten streak to six after beating Yeovil Town 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Scunthorpe sit comfortably within the play-off positions as John Coleman has managed to steer his side clear of the relegation fight in recent weeks.

Altrincham vs Braintree Town

Kick-off at 15:00

Sitting 19th and 21st respectively, both sides are looking to pull clear of the relegation zone with 13 games remaining.

Neil Gibson’s Altrincham will aim to build on their 1-0 win over Wealdstone as they play a fourth successive fixture at home.

Braintree Town, meanwhile, will hope to address their struggles in front of goal, currently the lowest scorers in the National League.

Boston United vs Tamworth

Kick-off at 15:00

Looking to extend their strong run, Boston United host Andy Peaks’ Tamworth at the Jakemans Community Stadium.

Four straight victories have lifted the Lincolnshire outfit into the top half, but a win for the Lambs would see them leapfrog the Pilgrims.

Brackley Town vs Southend United

Kick-off at 15:00

With Andy Whing newly installed, Brackley Town will look to build on last weekend’s 2-1 win over Gateshead and continue their climb.

Play-off chasing Southend United have won two of their last five, including an emphatic 5-1 victory over Morecambe.

The Shrimpers head to Brackley for the first time, aiming to reclaim their position in the play-offs.

Carlisle United vs Yeovil Town

Kick-off at 15:00

Promotion hopefuls Carlisle sit five points clear of the chasing pack in third place after taking nine from their last five matches.

Fifteen places separate the sides in the table, though Yeovil Town arrive on a mixed run that includes a creditable 1-1 draw with leaders Rochdale.

Morecambe vs Eastleigh

Kick-off at 15:00

Jim Bentley’s Morecambe are searching for a first win in nine as they host 17th-placed Eastleigh at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium.

The Spitfires make the trip up north with five points from their last five games, while the Shrimps have picked up two since Bentley’s arrival.

Sutton United vs Wealdstone

Kick-off at 15:00

Sutton United will look to build momentum and move further clear of danger after their recent 2-1 win over Woking.

The reverse fixture was a thriller, with Wealdstone fighting back from two goals down to claim a 4-2 victory.

Solihull Moors vs Hartlepool United

Kick-off at 15:00

Two play-off outsiders meet at the ARMCO Arena, with both sides looking to capitalise on any slip-ups in the race for seventh.

With Southend and Halifax currently setting the pace in that battle, Solihull Moors and Hartlepool United know a strong run of form now could yet see them stake a late claim for the final play-off spot.
