JAY DENIED AS TOWN’S BIG HOPES ARE FADING

PLAY-OFF chasing FC Halifax Town were held to a goalless draw by Yeovil Town in a match that offered few clear-cut chances but plenty of late drama.
Star midfielder Jay Turner-Cooke almost won it for the Shaymen three minutes from time with a superb effort from the halfway line which clipped the top of the crossbar.
As it was, a point ensured Halifax’s play-off hopes were all but ended with Southend needing just two points bfrom their last four games to be assured of a top-seven place.
