Waddock’s the Newton meter

JOE Newton says he proudly became Wealdstone’s first signing of the summer – after hearing good things about his new manager. The versatile left-wing-back arrives at Grosvenor Vale offering considerable experience in Non-League’s top-flight, notably having spent two years at Solihull Moors and last season at Boreham Wood, who he led to the play-off final.
But now the 25-year-old says he has been inspired to moving on by the reputation of Stones boss Gary Waddock.
