AN INVESTIGATION will be carried out after one of the floodlights at Boston United’s brand new Jakemans Stadium was bent in half by strong winds.

The Pilgrims only moved into their new multi-million pound stadium back in December.

But now structural reinforcements are necessary after gusts folded the floodlight in half with the top part collapsing to the floor inside the stadium.

A club statement confirmed: “No-one was working in the area and none of the other structures were affected. Contractors will be carrying out investigations over the coming days – and the Health and Safety Executive have been informed.”
