Sam Austin says it was the Southend United supporters which convinced him to make the move to Roots Hall.

The 28-year-old has joined the Shrimpers after ending a three-year spell with Notts County.
In that time, midfield ace Austin helped the Magpies back into the EFL via the National League play-offs before then playing a part in two strong promotion challenges in League Two.
Southend, themselves, came mighty close to following suit when progressing all the way to last season’s play-off final at Wembley, only to be edged out by Oldham Athletic in extra-time.
