Wealdstone have confirmed they will investigate midfielder Sak Hassan’s participation in a Monday evening Baller League match.

Hassan, currently under contract with Wealdstone, played in the fixture without the club’s knowledge or prior permission, the Stones claimed.

The 24-year-old was featuring in the six-a-side tournament alongside former professionals, influencers and celebrities.

In a statement on Monday night, the National League side said: “We are aware that Sak Hassan appeared in this evening’s Baller League.

Permission

“The club was not approached for permission for Sak to participate, nor were we made aware of his involvement in advance.

“We will now be following up with both the Baller League and the player directly. No further comment will be made until those discussions have taken place.”

Presenter and YouTube personality Chunkz questioned the global superstar about how the Wealdstone player’s move to Prime FC came about.

Clout

At the same time, he also hinted that the Daggers could potentially be signing Hassan, with him dropping down a division to the National League South.

KSI said: “You mentioned him to me, so I talked to him and I was like, ‘bro, I got a big thing coming.’”

“At this point, I didn’t mention Daggers… I was like bro, I’ve got big things…so, there is that, and then also said, bro, think of the clout.”

Wealdstone went on to release another statement on Tuesday, providing further clarity on the situation.

“Sak and his representatives are aware he’s in breach of his playing contract by choosing to feature in the Baller League,” explained club chairman Rory Fitzgerald.

“For the sake of absolute clarity, Wealdstone FC retains his official player registration and any decisions relating to the remainder of this season remain in the gift of the club’s board of directors.”

The club added that Stones boss Gary Waddock “does not expect Hassan to be part of the team’s plans between now and the end of the campaign”.
