JOHN MCDERMOTT has made former Grimsby Town skipper Craig Disley his first signing as Alfreton Town boss.
Box-to-box midfielder Disley, who has also previously played for Mansfield, Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury, left Grimsby last month after six years with the Mariners.
The 35-year-old scored 34 times for the Blundell Park outfit and helped them to promotion through the National League play-offs in 2015-16.
Disley has signed a two-year deal and new boss McDermott said: “He is the first of many great and quality signings we have on the way.”
