PROMOTION IS KEY AS DAVIES BEGINS CITY ADVENTURE

SCOTT DAVIES chose Chelmsford City because the club have a realistic shot at earning promotion next season.
The former Crawley Town and Aldershot midfielder will turn 30 in March – and by that time he wants to be in a position to get a medal around his neck.
In his column for The NLP, Davies wrote about the challenges facing Non-League players to fix themselves up with clubs in the close season.
But it seems Davies ultimately had little difficulty as the beaten National League South play-off finalists announced their capture.
