AN IMMEDIATE rapport with new manager Mike Williamson made it an easy decision for experienced forward Sam
Ashford to join South Shields.
Ex-Gateshead, MK Dons and Carlisle boss Williamson took the Mariners’ reins following Ian Watson’s move to EFL new-boys Rochdale last month.
Ashford, 30, played for National League Woking last term and also had loans with AFC Totton and Hampton & Richmond Borough.
