AFC Fylde extended their lead at the top of the table to four points by defeating high-flyers Merthyr Town.
In what was a game of huge chances, only one of them was dispatched, Coasters’ striker Danny Ormerod earning the only goal of the contest.
Fylde boss Craig Mahon said of Ormerod: “Sometimes you forget how young he is, but he’s stepped up and gone from strength to strength.
"He’s not just scoring against the lower teams, he’s scoring in the big games.’’
