South Shields slip to second in the table after their 16-match unbeaten run came to an end despite Lennon Wheeldon’s late tap-in.
“It’s a great result for us and a good win,” said delighted Hereford boss Aaron Downes. “South Shields are a difficult side to play against, but our players ran their socks off today.
“What I am demanding of them, they are producing. They were two unbelievable goals and we can send our crowd home happy.”
