HEMEL HEMPSTEAD won for the first time in ten games to end any worries of getting dragged into the relegation battle.
The first half was dour but visiting East Thurrock should have been in front at the break.
They had the better of the chances, but the Tudors can thank Laurie Walker for keeping the visitors at bay.
His best save came when he superbly tipped ex-Hemel man Alex Osborn’s effort round the post.
