Striker helps Peacocks overcome a Stearn test

THE Peacocks staged a superb recovery from two goals down to overcome their play-off hopeful visitors with a last-minute goal. The home hero was Ross Stearn, who notched his club’s first league hat-trick of the season, but prospects had not looked so rosy during a first half in which the Rebels went 2-0 up. Worthing gained the advantage after 11 minutes when Ollie Pearce latched onto an Ibrahim Akanbi pass but was brought down by keeper Lloyd Irish, making only his fifth league appearance of the campaign.
