Hampton & Richmond Borough have filled their managerial vacancy by re-appointing Alan Dowson for a second spell in charge, marking the popular boss’s return to the Bev.
Dowson, who previously led the Beavers to promotion from the Isthmian Premier Division and one of their strongest National League South finishes in recent years, succeeds Alan Julian, who departed last week after nearly six years at the club.
Following his departure, defender Alan Massey led the club to a 2-0 home win over AFC Totton, ending their barren run and lifting them out of the relegation zone.

New chapter
Tasked with steering the club away from a scrap for survival, club chairman Ben Hudson said Dowson’s track record and connection to the Beavers made him the standout choice.
“Alan knows exactly what this club stands for,” he said. “His experience, leadership, and familiarity with Hampton & Richmond Borough FC make him the ideal person to take us forward.
“We’re excited to begin this next chapter together.”

Special connection
New boss Dowson added: “I’ve always had a special connection with this club and the people around it.
“I can’t wait to get back to work, reconnect with the supporters, and build a team that everyone associated with Hampton & Richmond Borough can be proud of.”
The club confirmed they will make further announcements about his backroom staff ahead of their National League South clash with Maidenhead United.
