WINCHESTER will be left wondering what they had to do to score as Yate hung on in a tense second half to claim all three points.
The visitors peppered the goal throughout the last 25 minutes and when that failed, Harvey Rivers was there to pull off a string of fine saves.
Yate had the better of a very scrappy first half of few chances as both sides found it difficult to cope with the conditions.
The home side went in front on 65 minutes when Mayson Evans and Jack Ball combined well and Luke Bryan timed his run to perfection to hammer the ball home.
