■ROVERS fell to a single strike from Farnborough in a tightly contested game, as Sam Pearce scored after just 11 minutes.
Both sides battled well with Connor Calcutt and Jimmy Hartley having the best Rovers chances, but the Farnborough defence held firm in the first half.
The same couldn’t be said for the Rovers backline, however, as Pearce fired home in the early stages for a vital visiting lead.
Rovers pushed on well but couldn’t break down their stern opposition and succumbed to the single goal.
