IT WAS a tight finish for Yate who led 3-0 at one stage but then had to defend in depth as North Leigh staged a recovery.
The only feature of a lacklustre first half was the opening goal for Yate on 34 minutes when Jack Ball bundled in a cross.
Yate turned the screw early in the second half when Mayson Evans got forward to head in a cross from the left and then later Ball got his second with a deft header.
North Leigh looked far from finished though and they got back in the game after 58 minutes when Roger James steered past Harvey Rivers.
