BIGGLESWADE TOWN edged a tight local derby against Hitchin Town.
As derbies go, this was no spectacle with both sides taking the measure of each other in the early minutes.
Play was stopped for eight minutes after an unfortunate injury to Canaries forward Brett Donnelly, who was stretchered off.
The Waders broke the deadlock on 31 minutes when Robbie Parker’s incisive run led to a pinpoint ball to Peterborough United loanee Morgan Penfold, whose cross was met by Jack Bowen and he forced the ball over the line.
