IAN Traylor scored twice as Merthyr racked up five goals against struggling Gosport.
The result of this was never in doubt despite the Martyrs surrendering a four-goal lead in midweek, Gosport did not threaten a comeback.
Corey Jenkins had been brought into the Merthyr starting line-up at wing back and he made an immediate impact in setting up Eliot Richards for the first goal after just 33 seconds, with some supporters still making the way to their positions.
