TROUBLED Merthyr produced a gallant performance to take league leaders King’s Lynn all the way but fell short due to Michael Gash‘s fifth-minute winner.
After an early attack that saw Ian Traylor almost get through the Lynn defence Merthyr fell behind when Gash capitalised upon some hesitant defending to finish with some quality.
Merthyr went toe-to-toe from that point but crucially weren’t able to pose enough problems.
