BASINGSTOKE eventually saw off lowly Dunstable, despite not being at their best and having to work hard.
They started positively, with Sam Smart seeing an opportunistic strike blocked, while Callum Bunting headed off target in the first ten minutes.
The rest of the first half passed with little action, though there was a flare-up after half an hour as Sam Deadfield’s frustration boiled over and he lashed out at Gedeon Okito. He was lucky to stay on the field as the referee booked the pair.
It took until ten minutes into the second half for the deadlock to be broken.
