MATTHEW Stevens smashed a hat-trick as Kettering stunned Boro with five second-half goals.
The Poppies named a strong starting XI despite the management’s thoughts firmly on Wednesday’s playoff semi-final.
And it was the visitors who struck first when Michael Fernandez bundled the ball home from a half cleared long throw-in. Boro nearly struck again when Connor Calcutt’s long range effort only just sailed past the goal, but Kettering were level on 29 minutes when they were awarded a penalty, converted by captain Brett Solkhon.
