HAVING raced into a two-goal lead, Beaconsfield had to wait for a late winner to finally and deservedly clinch the points against a plucky Basingstoke.
A fine cross by Louis Stead on 12 minutes saw Brendan Matthew nip in front of Dragons keeper Colm McAdden to put the home side one up.
And they impressively doubled their tally on 26 minutes when Matthew’s strike partner Marvin Morgan got on the end of another great cross by Stead.
The home side nearly had a third on 35 minutes when Bajram Pashaj saw a great effort saved by McAdden...
