Newman’s strike rescues Royston

IN A DOUR match with arguably Lowestoft Town having more to play for than mid-table Royston Town, it was a game of limited clear cut goal scoring chances.
The first half was punctuated by early half chances for Lowestoft with Crows’ goalkeeper Joe Welch being called upon to make two really good stops.
The home side huffed and puffed but were devoid of any real quality, brightened slightly when substitute Rohdell Gordon came on for the injured Scott Thomas and when he found his feet was Royston’s main threat.
