Poppies take giant stride towards title

MARCUS LAW’S men took another decisive step toward the title.
High winds hindered this encounter with little quality on show in the opening 15 minutes.
But a horror tackle from former Poppy Edmund Hotter on 16 minutes reduced the visitors to 10 men and allowed Kettering to take control of the game.
It took just five minutes to make the advantage count, as Charlie Wise sold his own keeper down the river, allowing Rhys Hoenes to intercept and finish. Man-of-theman Gary Storher doubled the lead on 26 minutes.
