HITCHIN struck the woodwork twice but had to settle for a point as Halesowen started life under new player-manager duo Lee Hughes and Asa Charlton.
Callum Coyle fired just wide for the hosts after 14 minutes but the Canaries then dominated the first period as a terrific 25-yard strike from Noah Chesmain rebounded down and out off the underside of the crossbar.
Home goalkeeper Dan Platt then saved from Scott Belgrove in the 25th minute and parried away from Isaac Galliford following a neat one-two in the home penalty area.
