STAINES finally put their four-month losing streak behind them with this gritty win.
It took the home side a while to settle down, a period in which goalkeeper Louis Dixon excelled to keep out shots by Brad Norris and Ryan Bath.
Meanwhile, George Pilbeam made a vital block, and Arjun Jung chased back to clear off the line when Norris’ shot seemed certain to open the visitors’ account on 15 minutes.
Staines also had to deal with a string of corners, but gradually started to make inroads themselves, and snatched the lead on 33 minutes.
