JACK Alexander’s second-half goal dented Blackfield and Langley’s title push as Thatcham Town held on to claim a crucial 1-0 win at Waterside Park.
Early on Patrick Nolan lashed an effort towards the top corner – only for Calum Ward to produce a sensational save to deny the Watersiders.
Thatcham came close to taking the lead when Kyle Tooze tried to catch out keeper Lewis Noice with an audacious lob but it went wide.
Just moments later the visitors thought they were in front but Connor Doe’s header was ruled out...
