Poole’s play-off hopes are still on

POOLE kept their play-off hopes alive with victory. It was a fairly even opening contest with Harry Pearse hitting the post for Basingstoke, with James Constable missing a penalty for Poole a minute later after Marvin Brooks was fouled.
Poole took control as the half progressed. Brooks’ strong header from a corner was cleared off the line before Luke Roberts got the opening goal. Jamie Whisken had a great chance to extend the lead but blasted wide.
