And they should have been out of sight by half time but Joe Sutton and Trendall missed.
After half time Halesowen seemed more focussed and after 53 minutes Sami Nabi missed a golden opportunity to level when he could only find the post from close range but rushing back to cover Joe Hood turned the ball into his own net.
