DEFENSIVE duo Liam Dolman and Jack Ashton sparkled at either of the pitch to give Diamonds a perfect start.
After helping keep a lively Barwell at bay during the first half, Dolman pounced on a flick-on from a long throw in the 58th minute to coolly slot home the opening goal.
Ashton doubled the lead 16 minutes from time with a well-timed run and header from a Declan Rogers corner, which had been earned by a stinging drive from Jack Bowen.
