FORMER Cambridge United striker Marc Richards netted a controversial winner as St Ives Town edged out Biggleswade Town.
The veteran forward’s 73rd-minute free header from Nathan Hicks’ clip was allowed to roll into the corner of the net with Waders defenders convinced Richards was in an offside position.
For many years St Ives have been known as a long ball team but with six new signings in their starting eleven, it was the home side that played all of the passing football in this tight affair.
