CHRISTMAS morning for footy fans arrived as the curtain was raised on the pantomime of the season.

Following the dress rehearsal of pre-season, we are normally presented with something resembling a regional panto cast: one or two recognisable faces, but largely shouts of ‘who?’ when the team is announced.
