BATTLING Peterborough Sports opened up a four-point lead at the top of Southern League Premier Division Central thanks to Jordan Nicholson’s solitary strike at the Valley Stadium.
Nicholson’s goal, calmly slotted home after a smart turn in the box in the 29th minute, came as a result of a sustained spell of pressure, and while the Reds had their moments, particularly late on, Sports stood firm to bag a seventh win in eight league outings.
