MORPETH Town secured a notable three points as they downed play-off chasing Whitby at Craik Park.
In a tetchy clash, which the hosts finished with ten men, both sides were evenly matched until Andrew Johnson broke the deadlock minutes before half-time.
Jack Foalle then sealed the win for the Highwaymen.
Early chances were at a premium until the hosts’ Ryan Donaldson and the visitors’ Priestly Griffiths flashed efforts wide, before Johnson struck.
