LEISTON ended their four-game losing streak as they won their ninth league match of the season at home to a resolute Hitchin side.
Goals either side of the break from Finlay Barnes and Will Davies secured the points for the Blues, who still haven’t given up hope of a play-off place.
Both teams struggled to create chances in a scrappy first half before Leiston took the lead on 36 minutes when captain Seb Dunbar ventured forward and played a ball into Adam Mills, who crossed to the back post where Barnes prodded home from inches out.
