MERTHYR weathered early Dorchester Town pressure to clinch a mustwin basement battle.
An early shot from Kieran Evans flew wide for the Martyrs who were forced on to the defensive as Yemi Odubade rounded keeper Jamie Cogman before firing against the Merthyr crossbar and Alfie Stanley’s follow-up effort was blocked on the line.
Dorchester debutant Michael Green, who had picked up an early booking, fired a free-kick wide after for a foul on Odubade.
