ALVECHURCH took full advantage of AFC Rushden and Diamonds’ slip up to grab the final play-off spot as they came from behind to earn a crucial victory.
The Church’s win – combined with Diamonds’ surprise defeat against struggling Nuneaton – saw the Ian Long’s side take the final berth on goal difference.
That turn of events had looked unlikely when the Church found themselves trailing after 19 minutes.
