WILL SUMMERFIELD left it late to earn newly-promoted Bedford Town a deserved opening-day point at Stratford Town.
A debut goal for Josh Hawker had put the hosts ahead, but Summerfield came off the bench to tap in from close range after 87 minutes.
The visitors should have been ahead when Connor Tomlinson skipped into the box past four Stratford players, only to be denied by James O’Neill’s last -ditch tackle as he looked set to fire home.
