UNDER the backdrop of the Imber Court sunshine, the Met started the season opener brightly, with George Frith and Hope Alves coming close to opening the scoreline.
This bright start subsequently paid off in the 14th minute, as Alves converted from the spot to give the Met the lead after Jasper Mather was brought down. Following early Blues pressure,it was the visitors who started to grow into the game, with Mo Bettamer coming closest to an equaliser, heading just over the bar after he met a delightful cross from the left by Danny Wishart.
