A FIRST-HALF strike from Ash Sammons wrapped up Stratford’s first win of the season at home to a Hednesford side still searching for their opening victory.
New signing Adam Rooney played a part in the goal in the 30th minute, his acrobatic effort falling to the Bards midfielder who made no mistake from ten yards.
It was the visitors who had the better of things early on, forcing a number of corners which were dealt with by home keeper Liam O’Brien and his defence which was well marshalled by Paul McCone.
