BEACONSFIELD Town fought back hard against Merthyr Tydfil, coming back from two goals down after missing out on a seventh-minute penalty that would have given them the lead. Kyel Reid took responsibility for the spotkick, but blasted it mortifyingly high over the bar.
The visitors were made to pay as the Martyrs enjoyed half an hour of midfield dominance, repeatedly stretching the Beaconsfield defence with pace and precise passing and culminating in a set of Merthyr goals from Kieran Evans and Frazer Thomas.
