HEDNESFORD Town kept alive their slim hopes of avoiding relegation with victory over mid-table Hitchin.
The early exchanges were even, before the Pitmen began to control the game midway through the first half.
They took the lead in the 26th minute when Jordan Graham was played in down the right-hand side, with the frontman producing a cool finish.
Hednesford almost doubled their lead on the half-hour mark, with player-manager Danny Glover’s low strike going narrowly wide.
