BEN Starkie’s early goal resulted in Basford taking all three points as the Pics fell to a narrow defeat on home soil.
A rapid counter-attack started with Tanzania international Starkie driving forward, playing a quick one-two with Anthony Dwyer and slotting the ball past home shot-stopper Jake Weaver.
Former Spalding man Starkie, 20, has played twice for Tanzania, most recently in March last year, after graduating from their Under-20 set-up.
