YATE’S long winless run finally came to an end as Met Police gifted them two own goals.
Yate got in front - in slightly bizarre fashion - with only eight minutes on the clock. Met defender Bernie Turner was attempting to clear a Lewis Hall free kick but managed to turn the ball past his own keeper.
Rudy Allen’s long-range effort was kept out by Yate’s Louis Evans as the Police hit back, but Kyle Tooze twice went close to extending the Yate lead.
